Tour Summary

  • Fly North from Healy, just outside Denali National Park, and wonder at the vast and remote land below .. the route flies over the Tanana Valley, just west of the Fairbanks North Star Borough, over the Yukon River Valley, and Arctic Circle before landing.
  • Experience the rugged and magnificent Brooks Mountain Range. The flight route passes just east of the Gates of the Arctic National Park, the wild and pristine jewel of the National Park System.
  • Land 60 miles north of the Arctic Circle at the Brooks Mountain Range community of Coldfoot. 
  • Enjoy an orientation and learn the fascinating history of the surrounding Brooks Range wilderness.  Travel on the Dalton Highway and visit the only year-round lived in community on the highway, Wiseman. Learn how and why the residents live there.
  • Enjoy your return flight to Healy/Denali with a second aerial glimpse of Alaska's Arctic.  Receive an official Arctic Circle Adventure Certificate upon landing.

SCHEDULE

We have 3 departures to choose from:

May 14 - September 17: Departs at 12:30 pm; returns approximately 6:15 pm

May 14 - July 31: Departs at 6:30 pm; returns approximately 12:15 am

August 2 - September 17: Departs at 6:30 am; returns approximately 12:15 pm

MEALS are not included. Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks or know there is a sack lunch that can be ordered during check in.  The sack lunch is ordered and paid for prior to departing and received upon landing in Coldfoot.  NOTE, there is no break during the ground tour to eat. One would eat on the tour or on the flight back to Healy/Denali.

DEPARTURE LOCATION

We depart from the Healy River Airport located at 2174 Healy Spur Road, Healy.  Or, limited pick-ups are available from Nenana Canyon Hotels.
